Progression Print
I’ve been making progression drawing to use as my blacksmithing notes for years. As a visual learner, I would work to capture the nuances in forgings that were always the crucial detail to the process. With the addition of watercolors, I could differentiate the various temperature phases the steel goes through with the necessary detail.
This progression drawing print is from my notes for my “Turnstile Friction Folder”. I love this piece as a ‘blacksmith knife’ and they are so fun to make. I also teach this class at The Center For Metal Arts and you can join me there in Johnstown PA.
These beautiful 9x12 prints were run in Philadelphia on Hahnemuhle German Etching 310 paper and are from a limited run of 100. They are signed and numbered and will look great in a frame in your house or shop.
More to come! Thanks again, -GF
